A lovely evening for our four teams and celebrating their seasons

Friday evening our First Team, Ladies, Reserves and Under 19s come together to look back on their seasons.

A great turnout on the evening with all four squads, coaches, club committee and family members were in attendance to look back on the player's season.

First up on the night was our Ladies Team, manager Lee Starkey praised the resilience of the team, especially with the average age of the squad being 17/18. Lee also confirmed Tier 2 license had been granted for next season.

First award of the evening was presented to the Ladies Young Player which was Laura Pratt. At the age of 16, Laura has made 15 appearances for the Ladies side, causing problems for the opposition with her pressing game and energy.

Next was the turn of Manager's Player, where the coaches presented the award to Catrin Ellis. Catrin joined Airbus in 2017 and has been a constant figure and leader in the Ladies squad this season making 21 cup and league appearances.

Ladies Player's Player was Zara McDonald and as Lee Starkey mentioned is probably one of the best accolades you can be presented with and have your fellow players recognise your performances throughout the season.

Next up was our Reserves and Under 19s and Rich Cusato spoke about the journey both squads have been on, and their season has still not finished as yet. He spoke about the step up of 7 players who have been included in the First team throughout the season.

U19s Manager's Player of the season was presented to Harry Henderson, who has played a mixture of games for the Under 19s and Reserves, scoring for the Reserves and the 19s as well as contributing with four assists.

Josh Stevenson was awarded U19s Player's Player, been present in the Under 19s starting line-up, making 17 appearances and making 7 appearances for the Reserves too. Josh joined Airbus at Under 12s within the Academy. He has been a consistent figure throughout the year and reads the game very well. Also, at the age of 16, his maturity has shown on and off the pitch.

Reserves Manager's Player of the season went to Ben Holmes. He joined Airbus at Under 15s. Ben is a model athlete and always puts his body on the line in big moments and makes wise decisions. Ben trains like he plays which is important to help any player get to the next level. Ben has also been involved in the Under 19s and Reserve starting line-ups.

Robbie Jones picked up Reserves Player's Player. Robbie has had an excellent season so far making an equal number of appearances for the Reserves and Under 19s. Jones has scored 14 goals and assisting 12. He also made his step up to the First Team, starting the NEWFA Cup tie against Holywell and being part of a young squad who narrowly lost 3-2 to Holywell Town.

The last awards of the night to be presented were to our First team. After being involved in a title race this season with Flint Town and eventual winners Holywell Town, it was nice to look back on a successful season for our first team. With an impressive unbeaten run which went back to October. Academy graduates contributing to the first team squad and stamping their authority in the Senior set-up.

Craig Lindfield was presented with the award for Top Goal Scorer. Lindfield scored 15 goals in 26 league appearances. Craig's experience was vital throughout the season, and this showed with his ability to contribute with important goals. His hold up play with the ball allowed players to link up in attacking phases of play. Craig has also picked up two Player of the Month awards in the last few months.

There was a tie for Supporter's Player with Tyler McManus and Joe Palmer picking up the award. Both players have had a great season with many of Man of the Match performances and both firm favourites with our supporters.

Young Player of the Season was awarded to Tyler McManus. Tyler joined Airbus at under 11s and has had a journey which included playing down a season at the age of 16. This season Tyler has been an ever present in the first team clocking up 28 league appearances and 4 in the cup. Tyler waited a long time for his first senior goal but that come against Flint Town at home. His great performances, consistency and attitude seen him rewarded with the captain's armband in the home game against Prestatyn.

Mark Allen allocated his Manager's Player award to Jordan Evans. Jordan had been on Skip's radar for a while and when he secured his signature, he was ecstatic. Jordan's quality throughout the season has shown and this has enabled him to change the game in many tight matches. From Jordan's 27 league appearances he contributed with 6 goals, which included a thunder bolt against Flint Town and Mold Alex as well as assisting 5 goals.

Joe Palmer picked up the award for Player's Player which is great recognition from his fellow teammates. Joe's attitude and leadership on the pitch has been a vital component for the team this season and this was rewarded in December signing an 18-month contract to stay with the Wingmakers. Palmer with 27 league appearances this season, contributing with 5 goals, including a headed brace against Llandudno away, and a contender for goal of the season against Mold Alex in December.

The last two awards of the night to be awarded were Club Man of the Season and a Special Recognition award.

Ray Littler was awarded Club Man of the Season. Ray is involved with everything finance, from the first team down to the academy. As well as his finance duties, he is a valued member of the committee and a steward on Match Day.

A Special Recognition award was presented to our Club Photographer of 3 years John Pickles. He has been involved within Welsh Football for over 12 years and has provided Airbus with match day photos over the last 3 seasons. John decided to retire this season after a few health issues this year, but I am sure he will be down to cheer on Airbus in the future and we would like to thank John once again for his time and effort over the last three seasons.

Thank you to everyone that come down on Friday night. Congratulations to all our winners and a round of applause for all our squads for this season.
