Read all you need to know ahead of Airbus’ trip to Guilsfield tomorrow afternoon.

The Wingmakers conclude their JD Cymru North title-winning season this weekend on away soil at Guilsfield.

Steve O’Shaughnessy’s side have faced the Guils twice already in 2021-22 - first triumphing in the Cup in July before drawing 2-2 in the league in November.

George Peers and Oli Lanceley both scored to earn the Bus a point in the Cymru North encounter between the two teams before Christmas.

Following defeat on the road at Holywell Town on Monday, Airbus will be vying to end the campaign on a high with three points to cap of a wonderful second-tier term.

Team news

O’Shaughnessy opted to rest a few of his key players last time out. Ryan Edwards and Gaz Edwards – usually starters – only featured in cameo roles from the bench.

Monday saw Jake Eyre return to the side after serving his three-match suspension for a red card he received at Llanrhaeadr last month.

A front three of Eyre, Nathan Brown and Oli Lanceley helped produce two goals, so it could be that the boss selects the same players in forward positions – although, George Peers is knocking on the door.

With the desire to rectify the loss at the hands of Holywell, whatever the team that’s picked, it will be one intent on putting on a performance befitting of league winners.

One to watch

The Wingmakers – Joe Palmer – Due to impressive showings from Jay Crowther, R.Edwards and Beau Cornish in midfield this season - and injuries - the 23-year-old hasn’t been a fixture in the starting line-up.

But Palmer’s display against Holywell was a reminder of the undoubted talent that he possesses. A fizzing strike from the edge of the area in the second half, temporarily restored parity in the contest before the hosts found a late winner.

The midfielder has now started the last two games for the Bus. If he’s chosen from the outset once more, there’s no reason to suggest why we won’t see another standout showing from the cultured left-footer.

Guilsfield – Iwan Lewis – It's hard to look past the 28-year-old when you’re identifying the main threats of Guils’ squad.

Lewis has featured 25 times in the Cymru North this season and has racked up five goals from midfield. The Welshman has netted in each of his previous two outings in victories over Prestatyn and Llanrhaedr.

His eye for goal is certainly something to look out for. If the Bus can keep Lewis quiet in the engine room – amongst others – they will have a great chance of signing off the season in style.
