A George Peers brace takes the WingMakers back to the top of the table

It was back to league action on Friday evening as Airbus made the trip to Bastion Gardens to face a Prestatyn Town looking for points towards safety.

There was a couple changes to the starting line-up with Tyler McManus and George Peers, replacing Dan Collins and Kaiden Cooke. James Davies was a late change to the starting line-up just before kick-off with Kaiden Cooke coming back into the side.

Airbus got us under way kicking left to right in their all-maroon kit.

Keighan Jones was called into action on 8 minutes when he easily gathered a tame effort at goal from the hosts.

George Peers made the breakthrough on 19 minutes, when he was the quickest to react to a loose ball and his side footed an effort into the back of the net from just inside the penalty area.

Jordan Evans did brilliantly to turn his man on 23 minutes, but his left footed effort sailed over the bar.

Prestatyn had a great chance for an effort on goal just after the half hour, but it was lashed wide from the edge of the area.

Airbus went into half time with a slender 1-0 lead from a George Peers goal.

Second half Prestatyn got us underway looking for an equaliser, whereas Airbus were looking for that second goal cushion.

52 minutes a glancing header from Peers hit the post and the rebound fell to Jordan Evans, but his effort was well held by Prestatyn ‘keeper Robbie Williams.

Peers was lively from the first whistle and he was in among the action again on the hour when his effort was blocked by the Prestatyn defence.

Five minutes later, George Peers had his second goal of the game when a wonderful ball forward from Nathan Williams lands in the path of Peers and he dispatched his effort brilliantly to give Airbus a 2-0 lead.

Fresh leges were introduced with Josh Stevenson and Danny Warren replacing Tyler McManus and Kaiden Cooke.

82 minutes and Prestatyn had a rare attack which led to a corner for the hosts, but the resulting corner was easily cleared by Airbus.

A hard-working Oli Lanceley was replaced by Sam Baker with five minutes to go.

2 minutes of the 90 remaining and there was a scramble in the Prestatyn penalty area which resulted in a corner. The resulting corner was met by an Airbus foot on the half volley, but the effort was over the bar.

Airbus were playing the game out and some brilliant bit of skill by Sam Baker saw him win a free kick which ran the clock down.

The referee blew for full time and the WingMakers took home the three points to return to the top of the table.
