After a well thought victory against Rhyl last weekend, goals from Mason Blackwell-Jones and Jordan Evans securing the three points for Airbus.
We travel to the Memorial Playing Fields on Friday evening for a tough game against Ruthin Town, who are fighting against relegation. Our hosts had a very good win against fellow strugglers Brickfield Rangers over the weekend, which has now made the bottom 5 very tight.
Joe Palmer knows Friday will be tough, “Another tough test for us this week. Conditions will most probably be very similar to the Rhyl game, which we are more than capable of dealing with, and to be honest I think the lads secretly enjoy that type of game.
It’s a different way of playing and winning football which you need to do if you’re competing for the league”
Our last meeting with Ruthin at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium resulted in a 4-0 win to Airbus. Our match in November saw our captain Joe Palmer make his first appearance since injury after a 6 month lay off.
Airbus took an early lead as George Peers scored within 5 minutes as his effort hit the inside of the post and in. there was two quick goals in the space of 3 minutes, which saw Airbus 3-0 up within half an hour. Joe Palmer scored on his return from a great delivery from Jordan Evans from a corner.
The third goal was added by Sam Rickett, he ran onto a through ball from Jordan Evans and he slotted home into the bottom corner for his first league goal for Airbus. Danny Warren made it four with the game approaching an hour. George Peers disposed the Ruthin full back and found Warren who calmly finished with his second chance after great control.
