U14's Success v Newtown Academy

The first game of the Super 6 for Airbus U14's was against a Newtown side who we hadn’t played in the last 2 years, so there was a feeling of the unknown going into the match.

However after 4 minutes Cai Pearson lofted a 40 yard free kick over the keeper to settle any early nerves.

3 minutes later airbus double their lead with George savage putting a good ball across the box from the right for Cai Pearson to Tap in for his second of the day.

A well worked move lead to the third goal after Kaiden Cooke played a great disguise pass in for Henry Goodhall to lob the keeper.

8 minutes before half time Newtown pulled one back meaning the half time score was 3-1 to Airbus.

Another early Airbus goal from Alex Russell after Kaiden Cooke slipped him in was the perfect way to start the second half.

Newtown got another back in the 53rd minute to make the score 4-2 but Kingsley Afful’s Brilliant header from an Alex Russell cross after a flowing Airbus move down the left settled the game.

Newtown pulled one back in the 63rd minute which turned out to be nothing more than a consolation in the end.

Final Score, Airbus 5 - 3 Newtown.

A good team performance from the 14s against a good Newtown team with stand out performances from Louis Wynne and Kaiden Cooke who got a hat trick of assists.

A great way to start off the Super 6 stage for the 14s.
