Under 9
The Under 9’s travelled to Connah's Quay for the third edition of the FAW festival.
Game 1
Airbus started off with a tough fixture Vs TNS. In a very 50/50 game with both keepers pulling off some top saves, Issac broke the deadlock with 20 seconds remaining with a strike from outside the area that flow into the top corner to win it 1-0.
Game 2
Airbus were full of confidence after the 1st game and scored 6 goals in the 2nd game while keeping their 2nd clean sheet of the day. It could have been even more for Airbus but they keep standards high from minute 1 to make it 2 wins from 2.
Game 3
A third clean sheet came with a 0-0 draw against a tough Flint side. Both teams had a good chance to win but neither did, a draw probably being a fair result.
Game 4
Connah's Quay had 100% record and looked a threat with Airbus having to defend a lot and put bodies on the line to protect the goal. On a rare counter attack some hard work by Jude kept a ball in play that Connahs quay thought had gone out and Reagan got his toe on the cross to make it 1-0. Connahs Quay pushed hard a got an equaliser and the game went tight for the last few minutes, another good point which kept us unbeaten and in contention going into the last game.
Game 5
The lads were aware they needed to win the last game if they had a chance of winning the festival and started the game eager to do just that. A Theo hattrick in 7 minutes and a 4th goal later on meant we won our game 4-0 and with results going our way, we had won the festival.
Overall lads were fantastic and fully deserved the win, positive going forward and fantastic work rate once ball was lost.

Under 10
The Under 10’s arrived at Connah’s Quay for a late afternoon FAW festival. Under 10’s were coming into the tournament in great form after some fantastic performances over the last few weeks.
Game 1
Under 10’s started the day with a cagey match vs TNS. Both teams had limited chances with both goals coming from rare mistakes. A good point to start the day.
Game 2
Newtown were the next opposition and Airbus started to look a little more like themselves scoring two great goals from Harvey and Eddie. We made things difficult for ourselves in the last few minutes by conceded a goal we could have prevented but come away with a 2-1 win.
Game 3
Next up was Flint. Airbus just edged the better chances and came away with a 1-0 after a tidy finish from Harvey.
Game 4
Connah's Quay were next and played some fantastic football to go 1-0 up. Connah's Quay keeper pulled off an unbelievable save to keep Eddie out and they went and scored from the counter attack to wrap up a 2-0 win.
Game 5
Last game of the day and Caernarfon who were top of the table looked like the more confident team, both goals they scored coming from situations we are nornally good at defending but on this occasion just couldn’t stop.
Overall a mixed day for the 10’s. Work rate off the ball was as good as it normally was but our decision making and pace on the ball felt a little off. Lads enjoyed playing plenty of competitive games which is the main thing.

11v11 format
Airbus Academy Under 13's 3 -1 Holyhead Hotspur Under 14's
Airbus 13's hosted Holyhead 14s who travelled to the hollingsworth stadium for a Saturday afternoon early evening ko under the lights.
The first 20 mins saw Holyhead play with a high intensity and we had to defend strong as a unit after we unfortunately lost our centre half Mynor with an injury on 7 mins.
Eventually the opposition couldn’t sustain the pressure and Airbus started to play with pace switching play developing overloads all over the pitch. On the 23rd min from a corner attack, Oscar who’s late run to the rear post hit a left foot strike into the opposite top corner. 1-0.
Holyhead equalised after we lost possession in the centre which saw their tall striker run into space to place in lower corner. 1-1.
Airbus continued to dominate possession and had numerous success playing through the middle box creating chances. On the 32nd min we switched play from a throw-in on the right side which led to Ted running into space on goal with a composed finish chipping over the keeper coming out to him. 2-1
On the 36th min again from a corner the ball fell out for Freddie Rawson to slot home with power.
HT 3-1
In the 2nd period Airbus were in total control keeping possession and creating many chances of which were either missed or great saves from the Holyhead keeper.
A great 11v11 format experience again for our 13s.

Excellent positional play wide left and as a 10 position throughout the match. Passing detail excellent along with his corners and set piece precision. Showed composure taking his goal chipping the keeper putting us into a 2-1 lead.

Airbus Academy Under 15 4-2 Caernarfon Town Academy Under 15
The Young wingmakers were home on a wet and grey morning welcoming Caernarfon. The wingmakers light with number due to suspensions and injuries set about correcting last week's result against the visitors. Again with the Airbus principles they were direct switching and vertical passes looking to hurt Caernarfon they they took control racing into a 3 goal lead exploiting the flanks and balls behind. Disappointing they switched off in the final minute of the half and conceded on the last kick off the half. The second half the visitors changed tack and went all out press trying to catch us playing out. The boys switched to turning and playing behind before reverting back to playing out depending on the press. The 4th goal came with Jack Owen and Junior both completing their brace. Disappointing they boys switched off and conceded almost immediately with the final action of the game. Given the effort they had all put in it was a well deserved performance and result. Fantastic to see they made good decisions on when to play out when to go direct and some fantastic switching of play to make Caernarfon use all their subs to maintain the game intensity.

Junior took on detail and applied it as well keeping intensity in his game.
Airbus Academy Under 15's 2-2 Connah's Quay Nomads Under 15's
Windy Wednesday night under floodlights Airbus Under 15 travelled to play Connah's Quay Nomads for our rearranged FAW fixture. This was our 2nd game in 3 days and the boys started slow and were one down after 6 minutes. Allowing the emotions of the rivalry to take over. To their credit they steady the ship and played their way into the game showing using the Airbus principles they were able to cut through Nomads at will. Half time reminder of principles they came out with a new intensity and took 20 mins to over whole the deficit to take the lead. Both goals and assists coming from Junior and Mason. Nomads then tried to up the intensity and went direct looking for second balls or pace behind.
Eventually they got a rebound off the Keeper to draw level. With the swing of momentum the game became open and a break from Airbus where the keeper came out the area handling the ball was allowed to play on, the ball was crossed and shot cleared off the line. The game was a passionate affair from both side and exciting for the neutrals. Some good learning for the young wingmakers around game management and dealing with long balls.
