Under 7’s
On Sunday, we welcomed NFA, who proved to be a very strong side and caused problems throughout the matches. Despite this, it was an excellent and resilient performance from our players across the day.
One of the NFA teams were U8s, which made for a very physical contest. They showed their experience and quality, but we adapted well and created some strong attacking opportunities of our own.
The game against the Under 7s was a slightly different encounter, where the difference in age groups was noticeable. This match showcased some high-quality football, with several players finding the net on multiple occasions.

What was originally scheduled as a home fixture against Newtown turned into a brilliant tri-tournament away at Shrewsbury, and it proved to be a fantastic morning of football for our young players.
Airbus 1 delivered some excellent performances, beating both Newtown teams and narrowly losing to two strong Shrewsbury sides in closely contested games. Harrison earned Player of the Match with crucial 1v1 saves, strong positioning and confident distribution to build attacks from the back. Beau was electric going forward, scoring a superb hat-trick including a powerful individual goal, while Ozzy’s positive runs and link-up play created space and momentum. Oakley and Giorgio were strong defensively, making key tackles and supporting attacks when possible. Lyle showed great vision from the left with clever split passes, and Alfie worked tirelessly across the pitch, linking play and supporting in all phases.
Airbus 2 matched that competitiveness throughout the morning, securing an impressive win against one of the Shrewsbury sides and performing strongly in tight games against both Shrewsbury and Newtown. Dewi made a number of brave, outstanding saves, while Harri’s passing range helped the team play with confidence. Elliot’s movement and intelligence stood out, Wasim worked relentlessly with good decision making, Charlie B showed bravery and a high work rate, Jack was defensively composed and smart in his choices, and Harrison M brought constant energy and strong defensive contributions.
Across all matches there were goals, creativity and, most importantly, bravery on the ball. The boys showed a real willingness to play the right way, take risks and keep learning. A brilliant morning of development and enjoyment — very proud of both teams

We welcomed Newtown to the airfield for four matches, and the boys settled in quickly, playing some excellent football throughout. They scored plenty of well-worked goals, and conceding just one goal across two hours of football is a real testament to their strong defending and outstanding goalkeeping.

The Under 10’s welcomed Newtown to Airbus on Saturday morning. They had their work cut out as a few players had played the previous game with the 11’s and a few players had just returned from illness and Injury. This didn’t seem to effect the lads who accross both pitches scored plenty of goals and created some fantastic passages of play. The lads finished the game having continued their great goal record over the last few weeks and players enjoying the free flowing game. Shout out to Henry in goal who made a triple save in one of the games. Well done everyone, let’s keep this fantastic run going.

This weekend the Under 11s put in one of their best performances this year.
Free flowing football, decision making on point and lots of great goals!
We worked out quickly how to break the Newtown press and Dylan used this to his advantage by stepping in to midfield from the back and creating overloads in the final third. Jude making positive forward runs to create the space and grabbing himself a goal in the process!
Our second game proved to be a stalemate where the lads gave everything but just couldn’t find the back of the net, but neither could Newtown.
A great morning of football!

FAW Girls U14’s 0 - 3 Airbus U12’s
The Under 12’s squad travelled to Colliers Park to face a strong FAW Under 14’s girls side.
The first half the lads were excellent, attacking with intent, defending as a unit, making it really difficult for the opposition to get into the game. Max got his first of the day after some good work from Blake to hold the ball up which he laid off to Max who bent it into the top corner. The lads kept going and trying to attack with purpose, Archie played a brilliantly through ball into Max’s path which he slotted away nicely. We went in 2-0 up at the break.
I set the lads a challenge to keep solid and keep a clean sheet for the second half, along with everything we were doing well in the first half.
The lads started really well again, using the width to get into behind, som excellent combinations which saw us create many chances. After the 43rd minute, George did some excellent work on the left and whipped an outstanding cross into the box, Max was there again at the back post to score with a brilliant header and complete his hattrick. After the 3rd goal, the intensity dropped in the game and we started getting sloppy on the ball and not showing the standards which we shown for the majority of the game. Shay made some brilliant saves late on to hold onto the clean sheet.

Another excellent display topped off with a hat trick. Instrumental in everything we did well going forward and worked tirelessly for the team off the ball. Well done Max

FAW Girls Under 16s 2-4 Airbus Under 13’s
Another tough trip to Colliers Park to play the FAW Under 16s girls this Sunday morning 10:45am ko.
After last weeks fixture we knew this would be another physical match of which due to low numbers included Will & Mason from the Under 12's group to help out.
Airbus started strong creating chance after chance eventually taking the lead in the 14th min with a cross from the right side from Lucas cross for Freddie Rawson fire home 1-0.
The opposition took control of the game passing the ball with pace and a great reaction save from Sonny put on on the counter in the 40 th min created an overload on the right side again of which Max crossed for Lucas cleverly direct his header into the far corner.
In the 2nd period again we were under pressure and they broke through which led to the Ref awarding them a penalty from a challenge out the penalty area 2-1.
Airbus reacted and our intensity levels increased. Mason ran on to a long ball then was fouled in in the area ref had to award the penalty of which Mason fired home with pace. 3-1
In the 71st playing out from our defensive line we played through the middle with quality combination of passing leading Ted to assist to Hari who slotted home with composure.
Opposition then caught us asleep on our right side finding space to fire into our lower corner 4-2.
Overall another very physical match of which lads matched and well done to Will & Mason from Under 12’s playing their part. Also a strong defensive play and the creation of many chances. Some struggled with the size 5 ball of which we intend to use in training now going forward in prep for next season.

Harri Morris
Harri gave so much energy into the team played a cdm role protecting our back three, controlling the pace of game and always looking to attack when possible. Good detail on all passing. Well done Hari.

Airbus Under 15’s 3-1 Caernarfon Town Under 15’s
The young wingmakers had an early start away to Caernarfon, the tunnel and weather didn't disappoint. The young wingmakers had two Under 14s playing up Ted and Shay both despite the weather and physical size of the Caernarfon took onboard the detail and applied it well Ted swapping to a 10 role and was very good. Both players fitted in well guided by the Under 15’s.
Mason Sieminski starred with a hatrick the first coming from the execution of the throw in switch Mason was able to drive and finish. His other goals came from pens after hand balls, calm and taken with power. The team had a number of other chances to add more goals but were just lacking the final execution. Some really good moments and decision in the game where the boys are learning and growing as players develop. Discipline to continue to do the right thing in the right moments was great to see even when things outside their control were against them. Great bounce back after last week well done all.

Airbus Under 16’s 1-2 Connah’s Quay Nomads Under 16’s
We welcomed Connah’s Quay Nomads to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium and looked to take the game to them from the first whistle.
We settled into our shape and went 1-0 up through Callum Reynolds midway through the first half. However, It was a lacklustre game where there were very few incidents.
We unfortunately failed to clear the ball and the ball from a Nomads attack and it found its way to the Nomads winger who equalised soon after.
Nomads then scored a 2nd goal that was unfortunately missed for offside by the referee and we found ourselves 2-1 down at the break. We probably didn't deserve to be winning, however to be behind was harsh on the lads.
In the 2nd half we had plenty of possession, made a few good chances but we just couldn't get the equaliser. The game opened up when we pushed forward and we just needed that little bit more quality in the final phase to take one of our chances.
A disappointing result, there were so many of the squad who were ill today, but they all dug in for the 80 minutes. Overall the lads played well in possession and we will go again next week away at Caernarfon Town
Player of the match
Fin Hayes
A performance which shows how Fin is developing positively as a player. He used the ball well in possession and worked extremely hard out of possession to break up the Nomads play.
Airbus Under 16’s 3-3 Caernarfon Town Under 16’s
The lads started off slowly in defensive areas against Caernarfon and found themselves 0-2 down after 15 minutes - despite having 3 clear cut chances themselves to score.
We grabbed one back when Callum Reynolds headed home a Fish cross into the top corner to half the deficit.
We had a total of 10 other chances in the first half but just couldn’t convert.
In the 2nd half we really took the game to Caernarfon. We had chance after chance but just couldn’t get ourselves level. We had one cleared of the line and hit the bar from a 20 yard Jake Pendlebury strike. It just wouldn't go in.
Finally our pressure told & a decision went our way as we were awarded a penalty as Callum Reynolds was upended in the box. Jake Pendlebury struck the ball home to make it 2-2.
Caernarfon then scored from a lucky cross shot that got caught in the wind and we thought this wasn't going to be our day only for Callum Reynolds to equalise with his 2nd goal of the game - a fine header at the far post from a Dylan Cusato free-kick.
In the end great resilience was shown by the lads to come back from 0-2 & 2-3 - but the game should have been out of site due to the number of chances that were created.
Definitely an area to work on and we will look to improve in the final phase going forward.
Player of the match
Jack Davies
An excellent overall performance from Jack. Looked comfortable in possession and provided great support from the left hand side when going forward. Out of possession he was solid and very competent winning his aerial duels.

Airbus Under 19’s 1-7 Connah’s Quay Nomads Under 19’s
It was a tough night for the Under 19 squad as we welcomed Connah’s Quay Nomads to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.
There were 6 x Under 16 players in the Airbus starting line up and 1 who came on as a substitute - in a fixture that was always going to be tough against an experienced Nomads side that are sitting at the top of the league.
Nomads got on top early and scored from the 2nd phase of a corner where the Airbus lads should have reacted better.
It was 0-2 shortly after when we got caught down the left hand side and didn't deal with the ball across the near post.
We had a couple of excellent chances when Ieuan Jones-Wellstead crossed the ball to the back post for a tap in that we were unable to convert & Ben Williams went close when breaking well into the Connahs Quay Nomads box.
Thus, as happens in football, after not taking our chances, we conceded a couple more avoidable goals towards the end of half which meant it was always going to be difficult to get back into the game.
2nd half was pretty even until a couple of mistakes allowed Nomads to score a few more. We did score ourselves through Ieuan Jones-Wellstead.
We played well in patches, had a couple more decent chances as Franek Sadczuk & Callum Reynolds went close, but we unfortunately lacked the cutting edge to break down the opposition.
The experience that the Under 16 lads will take from these matches will be invaluable and is important for their future development. A difficult night for many, but lots of learning opportunities going forwards.
Player of the match
Ieuan Jones-Wellstead
Excellent on the ball and caused Nomads problems getting forward in wide areas. Worked hard throughout, stuck to our principles and was a great example to the younger lads on the night.
Airbus Under 19’s 3-4 Caernarfon Town Under 19’s
Sunday afternoon saw the young wingmakers travel to Caernarfon for a 2pm kick off
Airbus started the game very well and created chances really early in the game and on 3’ Ieuan Jones Wellstead digs out a well worked cross for Leighton Brewer to open the scoring. The game was very open in the first half. The opposition kept challenging the Airbus back line with long balls in to their big No 9. As you would expect there was a plethora of chances created at both ends and on 29’ James Allen lifted it over the goalkeeper to add to his goal tally for the season. It could of been well out of sight at half time however somehow it was 2-2
Second half saw Airbus try to remain composed and stay in possession a bit more and their efforts paid off with a fabulous strike from our young U16 player Finn Hayes to slot home and take the lead. 3’ later we were level again and sadly ok the 76’ the hosts went on to score again and take all three points.

Will Green
Will had a solid game today. The young defender worked hard heading everything in front of him and covering round when defending long balls following the details he was given. His attitude is fantastic and he gives his all every minute he spends on the pitch. Well done Will
