The penultimate games of the 2025/26 season for the young wingmakers as they played games versus Manchester City & TNS

Under 7's

Fantastic experience for Airbus Under 7's today playing Manchester City at the Etihad campus. World class facilities as you’d imagine and some seriously talented players on display.

Under 8's

Airbus Under 8s travelled to Newtown for the FAW National Festival and produced an outstanding display across seven matches, showcasing their continued development both in and out of possession.

Across the day, the team demonstrated a fantastic commitment to playing positive football, with some excellent passing combinations evident throughout all seven games. The players showed great confidence on the ball, linking play well and consistently looking to build attacks with purpose.

What was equally impressive was the team’s work without the ball. The defensive effort across the squad was exceptional, with the group only conceding in two of the seven matches. High levels of pressing, intelligent positioning to force opponents wide, and determined recovery runs and tackles all contributed to a superb defensive performance. Dewi in goal played a key role with several important saves and showed real composure with his distribution, helping the team maintain their style of play.

The overall results reflected the team’s efforts, finishing the festival with 4 wins, 2 draws and just 1 defeat – an excellent return against strong opposition.

There were a number of standout performances across the group, making the Player of the Day decision particularly difficult:

Beau impressed with superb footwork and relentless work rate
Albert showed fantastic pressing and quality in his passing
Jack offered direct attacking play alongside strong defensive contributions
Harri demonstrated an excellent range of passing throughout
Dewi made key saves and remained calm and composed in possession

However, the award ultimately went to Alfie Halley, who produced an all-action display across the festival. His tackling, passing and attacking contributions stood out, along with his energy and desire to impact every game.

A brilliant day for the group and a real reflection of their hard work and progress.

Under 9's

Airbus Academy Under 9s delivered an excellent performance at the National festival, showing great quality across all seven matches. The boys dominated possession and controlled play in all but the final game, where tired legs understandably began to show.

There were some fantastic goals scored throughout the day, and the team combined brilliantly, moving the ball with confidence and teamwork.

A special mention goes to Isaac Manley, who was named Player of the Day for his outstanding performance.

Well done, boys — a great effort from everyone involved

Under 10's

The Under 10’s played the last FAW festival of the season on Saturday afternoon.

The lads started well with a 2-0 win over a strong FAW girls team. They then followed that result with a 0-0 draw against Newtown where missed chances cost us the 3 points. We then moved onto Briton Ferry who scored a couple of great goals to beat us 3-1. Another 0-0 draw against Flint followed which again could have been 3 if we had taken chances. Pontypridd was next and we took the game 1-0 before a 2-0 loss to TNS to end the day.

Overall a good day with 4 clean sheets out of 6 and a few results could have gone differently if we had taken all our chances we created. Well done lads of a fun day.

TNS 12s - 1-6 Airbus 12s

Our Airbus Under 12's travelled to TNS on Sunday afternoon with the 1-15pm ko.

The match began at a high tempo, with both teams showing strong intensity from the outset. The breakthrough came when Max delivered a dangerous corner into the box, which led to a handball and a penalty. Mason Rimmer stepped up confidently and placed the ball into the bottom right corner.

That first goal quickly led to a second, as Max once again delivered a corner into the box, this time finding Grayson, who smashed the ball home. On the stroke of half-time, Mason Rimmer added two more goals to complete his hat-trick, leaving the Wingmakers cruising at the break.

Airbus picked up where they left off in the second half, with Grayson winning and scoring a penalty to make it 5–0. There was a brief lapse in concentration as we tried to play out from the back, which allowed TNS to pull one back with an excellent finish. However, Airbus finished the game strongly, with Mason Rimmer scoring his fourth goal of the match.

Credit to the lads for a great performance—both Camo and I really enjoyed coaching them.

Player of the match

Mason Rimmer

Mason understood the tactical detail of the press Stretched the TNS back line and was ruthless in front of goal.

Under 13's

TNS 13s - 2-0 Airbus 13s

The match started with high intensity levels from both teams.

Tns went 1-0 up in the 9th min from a corner with an overhead kick. Airbus continued to press and created chances but were unable to convert into success.

In the 2nd period both teams battled for possession and we were u lucky in the final third with there keeper in fine form. In the 60th min Zach hit the bar which ended up with a Tns break 2-0. Airbus went 2-3-1-2 final 10mins of which Tns defended until the end.
Full time 2-0

Overall Airbus lads were fantastic keeping up the high intensity levels throughout the match creating many chances vs a quality team.

Mynor controlled our defensive unit with strength & determination captaining the team throughout the match.

Under 14's

Player of the Match

Mauro Afonso

Mauro worked tirelessly against TNS on Sunday, out of possession he was very effective stopping TNS playing into the number 6 and in possession he made some great forward runs.

Well done Mauro!

Under 16's

In our final home match we welcomed TNS to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

In the first half the young wingmakers were excellent both in and out of possession as they stuck to their game plan and deserved to go 1-0 through captain Alex Mossman.

Ben Roberts then had an excellent effort superbly saved by the opposition keeper following a fine team move.

Unfortunately just before half time we failed to deal with a TNS corner and they equalised. That was tough on the lads as they deserved to be in front at the stage of the game.

1-1 @ the break

In the 2nd half a decisive wind got up against us and TNS were gifted 2 silly goals to which we should have done better. At 1-2 we had an excellent chance to equalise - however unfortunately it wasn't to be on the day as they added a further goal to their tally late on.

Player of the week

Alex Moody

The improvement that Alex has made both in and out of possession has been excellent this season. Today he stood up to the task and put in a very tidy performance
