Airbus Wings
Game One:
The Wings came out flying in the opening game, showing great energy and attacking intent from the first whistle. Quick passing and sharp movement created plenty of chances, and the team capitalized brilliantly. Oscar opened the scoring with a composed finish, followed by Lyle adding two well-taken goals to stretch the lead. The star of the show was Wasim, who produced a stunning hat trick, demonstrating pace, skill, and clinical finishing. The defence stayed organized, and the midfield worked tirelessly to keep the pressure on, resulting in a convincing 6–2 win.
Game Two:
The second game started with a setback as the Wings fell 2–0 behind early on. The opposition pressed hard, and it took time for the team to settle. However, the Wings showed resilience and character, gradually gaining control and finding their rhythm. Once the passing game clicked, the goals began to flow: Oscar sparked the comeback, Lyle added another, and further strikes from Harri, Charlie, and Wasim turned the tide completely. The team’s determination and teamwork shone through, sealing a hard-fought 5–3 victory.
Player of the Match
Dewi Noonan – A standout performance between the posts. Dewi produced a series of excellent saves, including two remarkable double stops that kept the team in contention during crucial moments. His bravery, quick reactions, and composure under pressure were vital to both wins.
Airbus Makers
The Makers started the day with a dominant display, combining sharp passing and intelligent movement to control the game from the outset. Albert netted twice with some clever positioning.
Giorgio added two well-taken goals, showing composure and awareness in front of goal, while Harrison capped off the scoring with a smart finish after a flowing team move.
Defensively, the Makers were disciplined, breaking up play and transitioning quickly into attack. Their energy and teamwork ensured a commanding 5–1 victory.
The second game began more evenly, with the opposition pressing high and forcing the Makers to work hard in the opening stages. Despite the tight start, the Makers’ consistency and ability to “move through the gears” soon told.
Elliot led the charge with two clinical goals, demonstrating great anticipation and finishing ability. Giorgio continued his fine form with another strike, and Jack rounded off the scoring with a confident effort to seal the win.
The team’s composure and passing game shone through as they gradually took control, finishing with a deserved 4–1 victory.
Player of the Match
Giorgio Halfpenny-Gambling – A tireless performer across both games, Giorgio combined technical skill with relentless work rate. His goals and link-up play were crucial, and his ability to create space and support teammates made him a standout contributor
Under 9's
The Airbus Academy Under 9's welcomed Caernarfon Town to the Airfield on Saturday. Before kick-off, an impeccable minute’s silence was held in honour of Remembrance Weekend.
In bright sunshine, the boys started strongly and quickly settled into their passing rhythm, scoring some fantastic goals across the four games. Their communication and switches of play were excellent, and it was great to see the defensive recovery runs we’ve been working on in training really paying off.
With four wins from four, the boys fully deserved their success for the effort and teamwork shown throughout the morning.
Players of the Match
George Shirley – Excellent defensively, calm and composed at the back.
Benji Evans – Tireless work rate and always a threat in attack.
A brilliant performance all round – well done, boys!
Under 10's
The Under 10’s welcomed Caernarfon to Broughton in what turned out to be an exciting game of football from both sides.
Airbus were keen to revenge the last time the teams met and started both games brightly. On 1 pitch Caernarfon took the lead against the run of play before Airbus scored 2 quick fire goals and should have added more before the end of the game. On the other pitch Airbus took the lead before being pegged back to 1-1, 2 goals sealed the result even with a late goal from Caernarfon to make it interesting.
In the 2nd games, on one pitch Airbus dominated and went into a 2 goal lead before Caernarfon scoring 2 in a minute to equaliser. 2 goals from Airbus in the last couple of minutes sealed a great performance. On the other Pitch Airbus battered from 2-0 down to bring it back to 2-2, missing a couple of great chances to take the game at the end.
Overall fantastic result and performance from the lads who were pleased to have put right the performance at Caernarfon a few weeks ago.

Under 11's
It was a tough outing for Airbus this weekend as we came up against strong opposition in Caernarfon who were well organised and full of energy from the first whistle. We found ourselves on the back foot early on, struggling to move the ball with any real purpose or tempo. The opposition’s pressing game made it difficult for us to settle, and we spent much of the opening stages defending deep in our own half.
To the players’ credit, we improved after each quarter. The boys began to show more composure in possession, started finding better passes, and began to compete with far more confidence. The final 15 minutes were a real positive — we kept a clean sheet, looked far more disciplined defensively, and began to create a few chances of our own. That spell showed what this team is capable of when we stay calm and play our football.
The key message going forward is to start games how we finish them — with focus, determination, and belief.
Player of the Match
Jack Davies – Stayed composed and positive throughout, showing real leadership and consistency regardless of the score line.

Airbus Academy U12 1-1 TNS Academy U12
Today we welcomed TNS U12 to our home ground at Airbus for a top-of-the-table clash. Coming off a 4-0 victory against them last week on their turf, we could definitely sense they arrived hungry for payback. It was clear from the start that they were out to reverse last week’s result and keep their spot at the top.
In the first half, both teams were a bit cautious and it turned into a fairly tight affair. We couldn’t quite get our usual passing rhythm going, and TNS put a lot of pressure on us, especially in the individual battles and second balls. We did have a clear chance to score at the last minute of this half nut was called off for offside, which felt a bit harsh, but that’s football.
In the second half, we came out with a lot more determination. We asked the boys to put the ball on the ground and really play our game. Although chances were still at a premium for both sides, we managed to push forward more effectively. Unfortunately, TNS took the lead about ten minutes from the end through an own goal, which was a real stroke of bad luck on our part.
But credit to our boys they didn’t let that late goal shake them. They regrouped and kept pushing forward. And in the very last minute, we had a moment of brilliance: delivered a fantastic pass to Blake, who did what he does best and slotted home from a tricky angle. That equalizer made it 1-1 at the final whistle, which honestly felt like a fair reflection of the game.
Player of the Match
Lucas Lovell
Lucas was absolutely everywhere today. He won almost all his individual battles and really kept us in it with his effort and composure.

Airbus Academy U13's 0-4 TNS Academy U13's
It was a scrappy first 15 minutes, but the Wingmakers did create some chances. However, after those early opportunities, TNS broke down the other end and made it 0–1 against the run of play. TNS then started to control the game, and just before half-time they managed to score again — a poorly cleared corner was smashed into the roof of the net.
Half-time: 0–2
In the second half, the Wingmakers started poorly and conceded a third to make it 0–3. After that, Airbus began to regain possession and move the ball quickly, but another counter-attack saw Arjan pull off a brilliant save — only for TNS to score from the rebound.
Player of the Match
Max Derbyshire
Max never stopped running down the right-hand side, created chances, and nearly scored himself. Well done, Max!

Airbus Academy U14's 0-5 TNS Academy U14's
We welcomed TNS on Sunday for a midday kick-off. Unfortunately, a poor warm-up seemed to carry into the start of the game, and we found ourselves on the back foot early on.
Just one minute in, a mix-up at the back gifted TNS the opening goal 1–0. Ten minutes later, another defensive error on the edge of the box made it 2–0. We still hadn’t settled, and when Alfie miss kicked a clearance, it fell kindly to a TNS player for their third. Three gifted goals inside the first fifteen.
After twenty minutes, we began to find our rhythm. Twice down the left, Daf broke through but fired just wide on both occasions. He went close again soon after with a near-post effort. The front three of Daf, Leo, and Arthur were starting to cause problems, and we began to play some good football. Mauro went close with a long-range strike that rattled the crossbar, and Arthur made a strong run down the right but shot wide.
On the half-hour mark, Arthur struck a powerful free kick that the keeper tipped onto the bar. Despite creating several good chances, we couldn’t find the net.
Just before half-time, TNS’s number 9 produced a good solo goal to make it 4–0.
We started the second half the way we finished the first much better. An early free kick from Macsen found Arthur, whose header went wide. For twenty minutes, the game was evenly balanced.
Midway through the half, Adam broke down the right and found Leo, whose effort went just over the bar. Moments later, TNS added a fifth with a deflected shot from outside the box. 5–0.
Despite the scoreline, the boys showed real effort and played some good football after the opening fifteen minutes.
Player of the Match
Macsen Baker
Macsen controlled the midfield well, moved the ball intelligently, and put in a solid all round performance. Well done, Macsen!

TNS Academy U15's 6-1 Airbus Academy U15's
The Under 15 travelled for the early morning KO at TNS. The lads setup well and looked to frustrate TNS who are currently unbeaten this season.
TNS piled on the pressure, but couldn't break us down and it was a shame that the first goal TNS scored took 6 minutes for VAR to sort out...the lad who struck the ball was onside - however the player interfering right next to him and affecting our defender was offside - so the subjective view of the referee was to allow the goal. A shame the technology want used in line with the rules of the game on this occasion.
TNS tails were then up and they scored 3 more excellent goals to be fair and Airbus needed to regroup and perform better in the 2nd half.
The 2nd half saw a better performance from the Young Wingmakers as they gained a goal back through a Charlie Smith cross shot. TNS added a couple more to their total to run our worthy winners.
Player of the week
Lewis Young
A difficult morning but Lewis took on board the detail throughout and looked to affect the game both in and out of possession.
Under 16's
TNS Academy U16's 5-2 Airbus Academy U16's
The Under 16 played away at TNS and went ahead within 10 seconds as Jake Pendlebury played ab unbelievable pass to Callum Reynolds who slotted home.
TNS equalised before both teams had chances however the score was 1-1 @ half time.
The 2nd half saw Jake Pendlebury slot home a Nataniel Rakowiecki cross before a lucky bounce from a corner saw TNS back level.
TNS went 3-2 up when we missed a clearance on the left hand side, but the key moment of the game followed where a VAR decision adjudged an Airbus equaliser to be disallowed. Not quite sure how or why as no one will explain a decision, but it certainly had a big impact on the rest of the match, as goals change games and this enabled TNS to gain momentum and score 2 further goals.
Disappointed for the lads, but fair credit to TNS for the result and we look forward to playing them again soon...next week!
Player of the match
Sam Ibbitson
An excellent overall performance from Sam in difficult circumstances. The lad goes from strength to strength and certainly has a bright future at Airbus Academy.
Reserves
Bala Town 2-4 Airbus Reserves
A wet away day at Bala saw the Wingmakers over come a number of issues. Entertained by watching Wrexham Legends play, they eventually warmed up to be told for the second week in a row there was no Referee. Rather than have game cancelled a qualified ref from Bala team volunteered to run the game, approved by FAW, which he did well and impartially all credit due. In the cold and wet the wingmakers set about their jobs and twice were put ahead by spells of good work and well executed finishes from Stan.
However pegged back twice by lapses in concentration the teams went in level at half time. Some tactical detail and changes in methods saw a much more dominant second half in which chances were created on a regular basic. The keeper keeping them out as well as the woodwork. As time ticked away Alex and Robbie were brought on and a shift in players positions and the intensity and precision became telling. Harvey Harry and Alex combined a number off time with Harvey oftern sliding a ball between lines for Alex's and Charile runs behind.
Eventually the deadlock was broken and topped of with a lovely counter attack slick one touch combinations and forward runs with Harry running behind at pace delivering a fantastic pass between keeper and defender for a tap in from Alex to round the game off. Harvey was man of the match with his tireless running tackling and great balls through for willing runners.
This was a fantastic attitude and display well done.
