Airbus U12s – Bala Town FC (A)
On Easter Sunday our Airbus u12s travelled to Bala for our next academy fixture.
Airbus started well taking an early lead with a great finish from Freddie Rawson.
The remaining first period saw Airbus with a high possession percentage but lacked accuracy in the final third.
In the 2nd half again Airbus were in control throughout playing with lots of confidence thus creating many chances as a team and with goals from Freddie Edwards, Olly and Gethin gave us a comfortable 4-1 win.
Man of the Match - Leon Neal – as no keepers available today Leon volunteered to go in goal. Along with a number of saves made his distribution helping us to switch transition at speed was excellent.
Airbus U14s – Bala Town FC (A)
On Sunday, in the Under 14s division, Bala Town and Airbus certainly kept fans on the edge of their seats. A double from Jack Hardstaff in the opening 20 minutes, either side of a great Bala free kick set us up for a gripping match! Lucas Braisdell followed suit with his brace, scoring on both sides of halftime in a true end-to-end affair.
Harry Williams’ deflected cross sealed all three points with a couple of minutes to play.
Ellis Davies performance was exceptional —commanding the midfield and earning Man of the Match honours. His presence in the centre of the pitch played a pivotal role in maintaining control and creating opportunities. A true masterclass in composure and skill.
The result sets up a gripping encounter for Wednesday night! Airbus facing off against Caernarfon with second place in the league on the line—this is the kind of high-stakes match that we all love. Given Caernarfon’s dominance this season, having won all three previous encounters, Airbus certainly have their work cut out for them. However, if they can reproduce some of the quality from Sunday, they could well turn the tide.
Airbus U16s – Bala Town FC (H)
We welcomed Bala to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium on a lovely sunny day at the Airfield.
The game was a scrappy affair in the early stages with both teams having limited chances. Airbus looked to take the game to their opponents but the quality needed to improve if we were going to break down the stubborn defence of our opponents.
We then had 2 good chances with Harri Phythian & Stanley Edwards both going close. We started to play ourselves into a dominant position and looked to control the game.
Thus, we scored the opening just before half time with Liam Taggert on the score sheet latching on to a Jake Pendlebury pass for his first competitive goal for Airbus.
1-0 @ the break but our standards needed to improve. This was discussed at half time and we needed to ensure that our intensity both in and out of possession was prominent in our play.
The lads came out a different team in the 2nd half. After surviving an early scare we got into our stride and made a couple of half chances.
We made it 2-0 as a deflected Caiden Baker-Williams cross was sliced into his own net by the Bala defender.
The lads really relaxed an took complete control of the game and Jayden Ball scored with a fine finish from the 2nd phase of a corner, from a Caiden Baker Williams cross. 3-0
Joseph Pridding popped up at the back post with a fine finish from another Caiden Baker-Williams cross to make it 4-0.
Dylan Cusato scored our 5th and final goal when he received the inch perfect pass from Joseph Pridding & danced through the Bala defence to slot home calmly into the bottom corner.
A nice end to the season for the U16s who more than deserved their 5-0 victory.
We would like to thank all the players for their efforts throughout the season. They are an honest group of lads that have strived to achieve and we wish them well in the future.
Finally, well done to the numerous U15 players that have stepped up throughout the season to play for the U16’s. Today was a fine example of how 5 x U15 players can perform at the required level and make a positive contribution to a team performance.
Player of the week: Caiden Baker-Williams (U15) – Another excellent performance from Caid who has ended the season extremely strongly. He created 3 goals today with excellent detail in his crossing from the right hand side.
Airbus U19s – Bala Town FC (H)
Airbus hosted Bala 19’s Easter Sunday at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium for the last home game in this campaign
The game started with Airbus in complete control. Moving the ball from side to side well and playing in clever pockets of space looking to break down the opposition low block. Lacking a bit of ball speed and intensity, we still created great chances but were unable to break the deadlock. HT 0-0
Second half started the same and pretty much from kick off we created a couple of half chances. It took a very good pass from Oliver Blayney to release Tom Dougherty to score the opening goal in 65’.
Looking in total control and creating chance after chance it was only a matter of time until we scored again and on 84’ Oliver Blayney popped up with a well taken tap home from Josh Edwards cross. Looking comfortable in possession game ended 2-0 Airbus
Player of the week goes to the skipper Tom Dougherty. Toms contribution this year has been excellent. The he leads like a seasoned pro and conducts himself the same. A fantastic game for Tom this week and a huge congratulations as he finds himself around the first team more and more, very deserved. Well done Tom
Airbus Reserves – Mold Alexandra FC (A)
The Reserves travelled to Mold Saturday afternoon for their penultimate game of the season.
The first half was a scrappy affair with very few chances created from open play. Airbus threatened from corners, in particular from Josh Edwards left foot but couldn’t put the ball in the net. A speculative effort from Robbie Jones crept under the keeper hand and went in off the inside of the post.
The second half was a similar story as Airbus failed to move the ball quickly enough to create chances. Airbus never looked in any danger of conceding but also didn’t look like scoring. 1-0 but an improved performance will be required against TNS.
Player of the week goes to Josh Edwards. Josh has been very consistent and has forced his way into the 19’s group. Josh continues to improve and deserves the opportunities that have presented themselves.
