Friday evening we welcome a fellow promoted side in Ammanford AFC as they finished 3rd in the Cymru South. Their promotion to the Novira Cymru Premier is their first in top flight football for the first time in the Club’s history.

Ammanford were founded in 1946 and they made their First Division debut against Cardiff City in front of a bumper crowd. In 1960, they had a name change to Ammanford Town and in the 65/66 season they became Champions of Division one at the time and the following season they finished runners-up in the Premier Division behind Cardiff City.

In 1992, they merged with local Ammanford Athletic AFC due to financial reasons.

This will be the first meeting between the two clubs on Friday Evening and as Airbus have had a mixed start to their Cymru Premier League campaign! Their first game back in the top flight ended up in 2-1 defeat to Briton Ferry. Last Friday, The Betws had a good comeback to earn point as clawed back a 2-0 losing position to gain a point with 2-2 draw.
