Friday evening we take our third trip to South Wales as we take on unbeaten Barry Town United. Our hosts have had a perfect start to their Novira Cymru Premier as they have won their opening four games.
They started their season with a 2-1 win at home to Cambrian United as they scored an injury time winner to take all three points. In their second game they had another late winner as Owen Brian scored in the 90th minute to win a 3-2 thriller at Flint Town United. A game against Cardiff Met was up next for Barry and it looked like it would be a stalemate until Daniel Smith scored the only goal of the game in the 80th minute to give Barry a 1-0 win.
Last weekend, Barry Town made the trip the Holywell and after conceding an early goal, they went on to win 3-1 to keep their unbeaten run in tact.
There has been two previous meetings between the two sides and these come in 2019/20 Cymru Premier season, where our hosts come out on top in both occasions. Our first meeting was at The Hollingsworth Group Stadium in September 2019, and there was an early goal from Barry Town as Kayne McGlaggon gave the visitors an early lead, and that goal was enough for Barry to secure the three points. The return fixture at Jenner Park also ended in defeat to the WingMakers as goals from McGlaggon again and Drew Fahiya secured a 2-0 win for Barry.
