Mason Blackwell-Jones 23, joins us from Bangor 1876 after their relegation to Tier 3 on the last day of the season, where they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Ruthin Town FC
As a youngster, Mason had spells at Manchester City, Wrexham AFC and Stoke City Academies. He went on to join Rhyl and made his debut in senior football at the age of 17.
Mason went on to have spells at Prestatyn Town, Llandudno and most recently with Bangor 1876. His experience in the Welsh leagues is something that will be very useful in joining Airbus.
With his time at Bangor, he went on to make 32 appearances last season, scoring 9 JD Cymru North league goals and contributing with 2 assists.
Blackwell-Jones had the following to say about Airbus, “The attraction comes from the way they play, how professional they are on and off the field. At the end of the day, they want to win trophies and be successful and the that’s the main reason that has brought me here today.”
After a very successful season, with 3 trophies and narrowly losing out on the league, Mark Allen moved quickly to bolster his squad with pre-season coming up very soon, “Mason has been someone we have been tracking for a while, and he will bring attacking flare to us and high energy.”
Welcome to Airbus Mason!
