Briton Ferry Llansawel were formed in 2009, when Briton Ferry and Llansawel Football Clubs made the agreement to merge together and form the team they are today.

Current manager Andy Hill took over in 2021/22 Season, after long serving manager Carl Shaw stepped down from his managerial position, and in this season Briton Ferry went on to finish 3rd in the Cymru South. The following season (2022/23) they also secured another 3rd place finish, but the 2023/24 they secured Champion status as they won the Cymru South by 71 points to secure promotion to the Cymru Premier.

In their return to the Cymru Premier, the South Wales team finished 9th on 21 points, with their biggest wins coming against Aberystwyth Town both home and away. When the table split into two come January, Briton Ferry went on to finish 4 in the Play-off Conference.

Last season, was a similar story as Briton finished 8th in the Cymru Premier with 25 points and as the table split once again in January, they finished second in the play-off conference, winning 8 of them 16 games, including wins against Cardiff Met FC and Llanelli Town.

This season has seen them record a mixed bag of results. They opened their 2026/27 campaign with a 2-1 win at home to Ammanford Town, where a 1-1 draw followed against Cambrian United. Their first loss come against current champions TNS as they lost this game by a 1-0 scoreline. Briton bounced back with a 1-0 win of their own the following week beating struggling Flint Town. We play our hosts on the back of two defeats for the Ferry, as they lost 3-0 to Cardiff Met and 4-1 Barry Town United.

On Friday evening, it will be the first time the clubs have met and played each other in a competitive game and we are looking forward to our trip to Port Talbot.
