Airbus welcome Flintshire neighbours on Saturday afternoon

After a comfortable 4-0 win against Ruthin on Wednesday evening with goals coming from George Peers, Kaiden Cooke, Danny Warren and a Ruthin own goal, Airbus have a quick turnaround as we welcome Buckley Town FC to The Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

Sam Rickett knows Saturday will be a tough game, “Big game for us this week as we take on Buckley Town in the league. We know it’s going to be a tough physical test, I know all the lads will be ready for that.
We’ve been working hard of late and had some great results to keep the pressure firmly on the league leaders Llandudno. Our aim is to keep our run of form going and win every game we play.
These are the games you look forward to – competitive, intense and full of passion. Hopefully we can put in another performance the fans can be proud of

Buckley away was our first game of this Season on the 26th July. On that day, The WingMakers come away with three points, 3 goals and a clean sheet. As the game was the opening game of the Season, it started off very frantic as both teams were trying to adopt their playing styles.

Airbus took the lead quite early on in the game, through George Peers who was carrying on his scoring form from the Season before. Buckley could have equalised before half time through ex-Airbus striker Brad Knight as he brought a good save from Keighan Jones.

George Peers doubled Airbus lead and bagged himself a second goal 7 minutes into the second half after some great work from Mason Blackwell-Jones. Our No.11 had his hat-trick with 22 minutes of the game remaining after a great pull back from Sam Rickett to find Peers as he calmly slotted the ball home.

Our visitors have been struggling for results of late, with losses to Holywell Town, Flint Mountain, Guilsfield and Rhyl. We know Saturday will be a difficult game and we hope to see as many as you there for a game which always brings entertainment.

Please note kick off on Saturday is 2.30pm! See you all there!
