Last weekend was victorious for both teams as Airbus did well to get a 1-0 victory away at Haverfordwest County, where Cardiff Met welcomed Holywell Town FC and run away 6-1 winners.

Our visitors were formed in 1957 and current manager Ryan Jenkins took over the Archers back in 2022 after long serving manager Christian Edwards retired from his footballing duties. In his debut season Jenkins led Cardiff Met to their highest ever finish in the Cymru Premier as they finished 4th, narrowly missing out on European qualification after defeat on penalties in the play-off.

This is their 10th Season in the Cymru Premier, and have on average finished mid table every season other than the 2022/23 season.

Last season they finished 5th in league, while also reaching the quarter finals of the Welsh League Cup, where they lost 4-2 to Caernarfon Town who went on to eventually win the competition.

Cardiff were unbeaten in their first four games as they recorded draws against Caernarfon Town on the opening day of the season, Briton Ferry, Haverfordwest County and Barry Town United. Their first win of the season come against Caernarfon Town on the 28th September with a 3-0 win, with goals coming from Adam Roscrow, Fumpa Mwandwe and Jasper Payne.

Airbus have played Cardiff Met five times, all coming in the Cymru Premier. Their first meeting was in the 2019/20 season where the South Wales pipped a 1-0 win with the only goal of the game coming through Chris Baker. The return fixture at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium ended with a share of the points as Cardiff scored first through a penalty which was dispatched by Eliot Evans before an own goal from Joel Edwards, 10 minutes from time gave Airbus a point.

The next meeting also ended in a 1-1 draw in the play off conference as Niall Watson secured a point for the WingMakers.

The last two meetings were back in season 2022/23 and the Archers come out on top in both occasions. We played each other twice in the space of 3 weeks as Cardiff took 3 points away from home and the return fixture at the Cyncoed Stadium also ended in defeat as Adam Davies scored in a 3-1 defeat.
