After joining at the beginning of the season from Colwyn Bay, Kristian has decided to call time on his football career due to work commitments and to spend time with his family and little boy Jude.
Kristian Platt had the following to say on his time at Airbus and hanging up his boots, “Loved it at the bus this time and last time I was here but this time is a lot different with working shifts an having the little man I just can’t commit ( I wish I was 24 again ha) hope we push on an win the league and hope to see everyone soon KP.”
Platty had a wealth of experience, including spells at Chester, Staylbridge Celtic and AFC Telford United.
He made his profession debut at the age of 17 for Chester as a substitute against Darlington in the Football League.
He spent four years (2010-2014) at Staylbridge Celtic where he made 132 appearances and scored 12 goals. From there, he joined AFC Telford United, who at the time played their football in the Conference Premier (Season 2014/15)
Platty joined Bala Town from AFC Telford in 2015/16, before returning for a second spell at Staylbridge Celtic (Season 2016/17).
At the beginning of Season 2017/18, Kristian joined Airbus where he spent four season at the heart of the defence for the Wingmakers. In this spell he secured the League and Cup double in Season 2018/19.
In 2021, he joined Colwyn Bay and in his second season with ‘The Bay’ he won the League title and League cup, as they gained promotion to the Welsh Prem.
Platty returned to The Airfield in July 2023 as due to work commitments he couldn’t commit to the Welsh Prem.
In his second spell at Airbus he become a great asset to the defending back line. He made 9 appearances on his return but his time has come to hang his boots up.
Mark Allen had the following to say on Platty and his spells at Airbus, “Kristian has been a great servant to Airbus over his two periods with the club. He has great quality on the pitch which spurred us on to winning the league under SOS. His commanding presence under pressure is great for any team and his ability to step up with a special free kick will always stick in my mind.
Off the pitch too he is a fantastic character who I know the lads and staff will miss. We all wish him and his young family the best for the future.”
We would like to thank Kristian ‘Platty’ Platt for his time and efforts this season and wish him all the best for the future and we hope to see you at a home game soon.
