The Wingmakers return to action on Friday afternoon at home against Gresford Athletic.

Airbus return to league action on Good Friday following a two-week break from league action after winning the JD Cymru North title in early April.

Gresford are the visitors to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium; a side who currently occupy 10th spot in the table.

The Wingmakers last locked horns with Eddie Maurice-Jones' side in August when Adam Davies struck late on to secure a narrow victory for Steve O’Shaughnessy's men.

With the Bus due to be presented with the league trophy post match, there will be a determination to clinch another triumph before the celebrations begin.

Team news

O’Shaughnessy will have a strong selection of players to pick from for the clash. Brady McGilloway’s match winning performance last time out puts him in contention for a start in this one.

However – it goes without saying – Davies will be missing with the injury he suffered against Llandudno. Jake Eyre is also serving the last of a three-game suspension after the forward’s sending off at Llanrhaeadr in March.

Due to the absences in attack, the boss has an opportunity to field a new look forward line. With there being a short turnaround to the next game on Monday, that may also influence decisions about who starts in Broughton.

One to watch

The Wingmakers – Nathan Brown. The exciting winger has been impactful in cameo displays as a substitute in recent matches – his showing from the bench against Llandudno was one of his finest.

Brown could be in line for a starting berth though tomorrow afternoon. Davies and Eyre’s absences mean places have opened up to fill the void left by these two key men.

But even if Brown doesn’t start, he’ll no doubt be a threat when he’s introduced to proceedings in the second half.

Gresford – Dominic Deacon. The 18-year-old striker has only scored one goal in eight appearances for the club this season, but that goal came in last weekend’s 4-2 win over Penrhyncoch.

Deacon scored to make it 2-0 at Clappers Lane, and he also went on to notch an assist later on in the game.

The Wingmakers know all about the value of having youngsters in the team, and the Welshman has the potential to cause problems to Airbus’ backline.

Although, Steve Tomassen’s return should help mitigate any attacking threats the opposition possess.

Match coverage

Tickets for the game are priced at £6 for adults and £3 for concessions and U16s for a 2.30pm kick off.

The Cymru North trophy will be presented to the squad on the pitch after the game, so this one is not to be missed.
