TNS threatened early on, with a long ball finding Ben Wilson in the opening five minutes. A good run put him into a promising position, but his attempted lob drifted wide. Airbus goalkeeper Louie Fallon was then called into action in the 11th minute, getting down low to collect the ball superbly, after the ball fell to Daniel Williams on the edge of the box.

Airbus had opportunities of their own as the half progressed. Jordan Evans delivered a dangerous ball towards the back post in the 15th minute, but Danny Davies got his toe to the ball ahead of Kaiden Cooke. Two minutes later, another excellent Evans corner was headed behind before Josh Stevenson could make contact.

The visitors continued to pose a threat from set pieces. In the 19th minute, a floated corner saw Jack Bodenham beat Fallon to the ball, but his header went over the crossbar.

Josh Lock was afforded a lot of space down the right as he beat his man down the right before Rory Holden's header was comfortably held by Fallon.

The visitors took the lead just after the half hour mark, as Airbus failed to clear a header and Daniel Williams reacted quickest, firing the loose ball into the back of the net to give TNS the lead.

Holden thought he had doubled the advantage four minutes later when he found the net, but the officials' flag was raised for offside and after a lengthy stoppage with VAR, the decision was confirmed.

TNS did get their second before half-time. In the 40th minute, the visitors worked the ball forward from the back, with Lock seeing his effort saved by Fallon. The rebound fell perfectly for Holden at the back post, and he made no mistake to put TNS 2–0 ahead.

Airbus looked to respond after the interval. Kaiden Cooke received the ball on the edge of the box in the 51st minute, but his effort went straight at Nathan Shepperd.

Daniel Williams then fired wide from the edge of the area 7 minutes later, as Fallon watched the ball out for a goal kick.

Airbus continued to search for a way back into the contest. A ball from Mason Blackwell-Jones found Jordan Evans in an excellent position with a quarter of an hour left of the 90, but his effort went wide.

Two minutes later, Airbus made their first change, with James Hughes replacing Oli Calland, injecting a bit of pace up top.

Ben Wilson got in behind the Airbus defence in the 76th minute, but his ball across goal was gathered by Williams as Airbus were able to clear their lines and release the pressure.

Five minutes later, another Wilson set piece caused problems as his free kick deflected off the wall and fell to Daniel Williams, although Fallon came off his line to smother the ball.

Airbus made another change in the 85th minute, with Jack Parry replacing George Peers for his first appearance at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium after signing last month.

Airbus were awarded a penalty in with a few minutes remaining of the game, as there was a foul on Cooke. However, following a lengthy delay, the referee ultimately changed the decision and awarded TNS a free kick.

Despite Airbus' efforts in the second half, TNS held firm to secure a 2–0 victory.
