Airbus produced an impressive comeback against Cambrian, overturning an early deficit. After falling behind in the sixth minute, the WingMakers responded with three goals of their own, with Kaiden Cooke and George Peers instrumental in a dominant second-half performance.
The hosts started brightly, with Frazer Thomas finding space between Brandon Diau and Josh Stevenson in the fifth minute before Stevenson recovered well to put the ball behind for a corner.
From the resulting long throw-in, Cambrian took the lead in the sixth minute. Confusion between Louie Fallon, his defence and the weather saw the ball strike Jarrad Wright and find its way into the net, giving the hosts an early advantage.
Cambrian looked to build on their lead, but Fallon was called into action just a minute later, producing an excellent save to deny the hosts a second. Airbus responded through Peers, who nutmegged his defender and raced towards goal in the eighth minute, only to drag his effort wide.
The WingMakers continued to create opportunities, with some excellent interplay between Peers and Oli Lanceley setting up Cooke in the 15th minute. Cooke cut inside before being wrestled to the ground, but the referee waved away the penalty appeals.
Eason then tried his luck from inside his own half after spotting Fallon off his line in the 21st minute, but the Airbus goalkeeper recovered brilliantly to collect the ball. A minute later, Lanceley was played through with a superb pass, but his left-footed effort narrowly missed the target.
Peers continued to cause problems, winning possession and feeding Lanceley in the 24th minute. The Cambrian goalkeeper did well to force him wide, although the assistant referee's flag was raised for offside.
Cambrian threatened at the other end. Jordan Evans and Oli Calland combining well in the 27th minute before a shot was comfortably collected by Kelland Absalom. Two minutes later, confusion in the Airbus defence allowed Liam Eason an opportunity to shoot, with a slight deflection sending the ball behind for a corner.
Despite Airbus' efforts, Cambrian doubled their advantage in the 38th minute. The WingMakers were trying to play out from the back, allowing the hosts to win possession high up the pitch. The ball was worked into Ashley Evans, who finished across Fallon and into the back of the net.
However, Airbus found a crucial response just before the break. In the 45th minute, patient build-up play from the back was followed by a long ball from Kieran Evans. Absalom misjudged its flight, allowing Peers to remain composed and slot the ball into an empty net to give Airbus a lifeline heading into half-time.
Airbus carried their momentum into the second half and completed the turnaround just three minutes after the restart.
In the 48th minute, Cooke picked up possession on the halfway line and drove directly at the Cambrian defence. He advanced towards the penalty area before guiding a superb finish from just inside the box into the back of the net to bring Airbus level.
The WingMakers were now firmly in control, and their attacking pressure continued to pay off. In the 55th minute, Sean Moscrop delivered an excellent cross towards the back post, where Lanceley headed the ball back across goal. Peers was perfectly positioned to turn the ball home and complete the comeback, putting Airbus ahead after trailing by two goals.
Cooke almost added another in the 60th minute, finding himself in a promising position, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.
Cambrian continued to search for a way back into the match, and Eason found himself one-on-one with Fallon in the 64th minute after making a superb run behind the Airbus defence. Fallon stood firm, producing an excellent save with a strong hand to keep the effort out.
Airbus made their first substitution a minute later, with Jack Parry replacing the hard working Oli Lanceley.
The hosts continued to threaten, and in the 69th minute, good work around the Airbus penalty area created space for Eason to shoot from the edge of the box. Fallon was again equal to the task, making another important save to preserve Airbus' advantage.
Further changes followed in the 76th minute, as the returning Joe Palmer and Mason Blackwell-Jones came on for Jordan Evans and Oli Calland.
Palmer almost made an immediate impact, winning the ball well before dragging his shot wide in the 77th minute. A minute later, Diau produced a brilliant tackle on the edge of the penalty area to clear the danger and prevent Cambrian from creating another opportunity.
Airbus continued to look dangerous on the counterattack. In the 82nd minute, excellent link-up play released Kieran Evans into space, and his cross into the box was cleared by Kyle Jones just before Parry could reach it.
Peers then won the ball back well in the 84th minute and played Cooke into space. Cooke's dangerous cross flashed across the penalty area, narrowly evading Parry.
Airbus made their final changes in the 86th minute, with Jake Roberts and James Hughes replacing goal scorers Kaiden Cooke and George Peers.
Cambrian continued to push until the closing stages, but it was Airbus in full control. Sam Rickett and Blackwell-Jones combining well down the right in the 88th minute. Rickett's intelligent run created space for a shot across goal, but his effort drifted narrowly past the far post.
Airbus demonstrated excellent character and attacking quality to recover from a two-goal deficit and take control of the match. After a difficult first half, Peers' goal just before the break proved vital, sparking a superb second-half response.
