Post Match Interview: Manager Mark Allen

Michelle Griffiths

Mark Allen's thoughts on our 4-2 loss to Barry Town

An eventful game this evening, where we got ourselves back into contention on two occasions?

M.A. "Yes that is the disappointing thing is that we get ourselves in contention to get something from the game. Then are naive to let them score and we are chasing again"

We scored two very good goals and could have had more if chances would have been converted?

M.A. "Yes, again I felt that we created and had good chances to score, particularly in the second half. One before they scored their second and another which flashed across their box. They are a very good team and against teams like that you need to score when the team is on top. They go down the other end and score and we are chasing"

Barry town was ruthless in front of goal tonight, are you disappointed with how the goals were conceded?

M.A. "Yes of course. I think that all are preventable perhaps bar their second which is good play from them. Really is the timing of the third and fourth as we claw ourselves back to be in contention for points with ten minutes to go. We have to manage periods of the game better"

You made changes this evening, was that with an eye on Monday?

M.A. "It’s an intense week with three games in seven days, so it’s important to look at the squad and to utilise everyone to get points depending on the opposition"
