U12 reverse the result of the North Wales Final to win the National Futsal Cup, while the U13/15 play Chester. U14/16 also in action last Sunday.

A huge congratulations to the U12 squad the became Champions of Wales on Sunday after a 2-0 final victory over fellow North Wales side Bangor City.

Their path to the final wasn't an easy one as South Wales champions, Carmarthen Town held the wingmakers to a 1-1 draw and penalties were needed to separate the two teams. Goalkeeper Jim McHarrie was the hero for the U12 as his save late in the shootout secured the Wingmakers passage into the final.

The final was a repeat of the North Wales final a month ago at Deeside Leisure Centre, with Airbus taking on Bangor City. Only this time, it was a very different outcome.

A first half strike from Harry Kaye gave the wingmakers the lead before a second half goal from Josh Stennett secured the trophy for the U12.

Massive well done to the U12 and coach Tom Wellings on this huge achievement for the Academy - winning the academy's SEVENTH national crown since 2010.

The academy weekend began on saturday with the U13 and U15 squads hosting Shrewsbury Town. The U15 came away 2-1 winners with a performance that built upon an impressive month. After a positive start the visitors began to find their feet, and with a few chances at both ends, it was Shrewsbury who took the lead.

The young wingmakers responded well and were unlucky not to be level at the break after both Ben Smith and George Woods were denied in their attempts. However, it didn't take the U15 long to level the scores with Owen Payne smartly volleying home shortly after re-start.

Airbus continued to pile the pressure on with the excellent Sam Robinson causing plenty of problems to the Shrewsbury back line. It was Robinson who unpicked the lock with 15 minutes left after a clever ball in behind released Payne, who calmly slid in substitute Luke Griffin to tap into an empty net.

Elsewhere on Sunday, the U13 went down 7-2 to Chester FC. The young wingmakers were level at half time and then found themselves in front against an excellent Chester side, before some individual errors proved costly.

James Roberts' U15 side also lost out to Chester on sunday morning, this time going down 2-1. Aaron Rainbow Adams was excellent in the middle of the Airbus midfield, while Owen Payne grabbed the wingmakers goal with a smart finish form the left hand side.

The U14 were unlucky to draw their away friendly at Rhyl 1-1 as some interesting refereeing decisions proved to be their undoing. Dan Eastland opened the scoring for Airbus in a scrappy first period before an excellent Barnie Simpson penalty save kept the wingmakers infront but the Lily-whites grabbed an equaliser before the end of the period.

Sunday's final game saw the U16 draw 1-1 with a spirited Colwyn Bay side at The Hollingsworth Group Stadium, with Alex Hannah in particular impressing for the U16.
