It had been 3 weeks since the last fixture was played by Airbus U12 in the FAW Academy Cup due to self isolation.
Thus, the squad travelled to Bala Town Academy on a cold and misty day.
Airbus started brightly and scored an early goal through Aleksei Williams who slotted the ball home clinically after determined work down the left by Jack Fox Cody.
Airbus peppered the Bala Town goal with numerous shots on goal, but a number of good saves by the opposition goal keeper denied Oliver Tyndall and Lewys Williams from extending the lead, whilst Aiden Calby worked tirelessly in midfield areas and ensured Airbus were solid throughout.
Captain & GK Damian Dziadowski was mature, vocal, neat and tidy with his distribution as Bala struggled to break down the Airbus defence.
Half time was 1-0 but the 2nd goal wasn't far away.
Airbus carried on dominating the possession and scored a good 2nd goal when Toby Lemon cooly slotted home a fine pass that broke the Bala lines from Fin Lavery - a fine strike and well deserved.
We were especially happy with this goal as it had been the main topic in training over the past week. Great to see the lads taking this into the matchday scenario.
Defensively Airbus were excellent today with Luke Tyndall, Harri Phythian, Owen Williams & debutant Liam Powell ensuring that Damian had one long range shot to deal with in the 2nd half.
Indeed Airbus should have scored more goals, Lewys Williams did have a goal disallowed for a marginal offside at best and Harri Phythian struck a 40 yard strike, only cm's away from the top corner.
However, a tight pitch and against a physical side, the performance was solid enough across the park & the lads came away with a positive result.
We thanked Bala for the match and wished them well for the rest of the season
