Tuesday evening we welcome Coedpoeth United in the second round of the NEWFA Challenge Cup to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.
Airbus would be looking to claim the trophy for a third season as they start their defence. The Wing Makers have reached the Final of this Cup in two successive season and both occasions they entertained Holywell Town. The final last season saw Airbus finish 4-1 winners lifting the trophy once again. Joe Palmer and Danny Warren gave us a 2-0 lead before half time and Warren added another goal to his name after the hour from the penalty spot, Holywell did score a consolation goal, and Kieran Evans finished the game off in the 84th minute to secure the win.
Our visitors had a 6-1 win against CPD Yr Wyddgrug in the first round on home turf. Joe Colley opened the scoring after 10 minutes and Jack Massey and Tom Williams added another 2, to give Coedpoeth a 3-0 lead. Yr Wyddgrug scored just before half time through Harrison to reduce the defecit.
In the second half Tom Williams completed his hat trick as he scored in the 59th and 82nd minute and to complete the 6 goal scoring line up was Iwan Bennett.
