Holywell Town FC Preview
Friday evening we welcome Holywell Town
With another game on a Friday evening, this one is a big one. We welcome Holywell Town as it is 1st V 3rd in the JD Cymru North.
With only 3 teams unbeaten in the league, including Airbus and Holywell, Friday nights fixture looks to be an excellent game for both sets of supporters. Up until last week, Holywell had been top of the table but after a draw against Rhyl and a win for Airbus at home to Gresford sent them to the number 1 spot.
Danny Warren knows Friday’s fixture is going to be a good one but also an important game too, “We are looking forward to the game on Friday! Holywell are always a solid team, set up well and they recruited really well during the summer which will make them even stronger.
The lads have trained well this week; everyone seems focused and ready for Friday’s match. We are hoping it will be a big crowd, Friday night under the lights, these are the games you want to be involved in.
The game itself is a big one! Everyone knows it. We are now where we want to be in the league table, and we need to continue our good from into the game and hopefully come away with three points”
Both Airbus and Holywell have scored many of goals so far this season, with Airbus scoring 28 and Holywell with 26. The visitors biggest victory come against Gresford at home, where they found themselves 8-0 by half time, Gresford did make the score 8-4, winning the second half 4-0.
Airbus have had two top scoring games with a 5-2 victory against Gresford last week and a 5-0 victory against Brickfield Rangers at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.
Last season there was one victory each. Airbus had the bragging rights in October last year as they come away 8-3 winners. George Peers with four goals on the night, James Davies with 2 and Danny Warren and Nathan Williams with 1 goal each. In an eventful game there was also two penalties missed that evening with George Peers and Jamie Breese missing from the spot.
With Airbus in a head-to-head with Colwyn Bay for the champions title, Airbus travelled to Holywell Town in January and unfortunately, they finished the game with a 2-1 loss after taking a 1-0 lead through Kaiden Cooke.
With what looks to be an exciting game, we look forward to welcoming everyone and come and cheer on the WingMakers!
