Flint Mountain Preview FC
An away tie against Flint Mountain awaits our WingMakers this Saturday
The points were shared last Friday when both unbeaten Airbus and Holywell went head to head on a very windy evening.
Even though Airbus were probably the most frustrated of the two teams, their point saw them say top of the pack ahead of Llandudno and Holywell, who all have their unbeaten record in tact.
Blaine Hudson is looking forward to keeping our good away form going, “We are looking forward to the game on Saturday. Another chance to keep our solid away form going and continue the run we are on.
Everyone was disappointed not to get 3 points on Friday night and I think that shows the characters we have in the dressing room.
Most teams would be happy with a point against Holywell. I thought we were outstanding in the conditions and this team will only improve over the season.
Flint Mountain have had a couple of good results recently, so we won’t be taking anything for granted and I expect a very professional performance away from home. Hopefully the conditions are a bit better for everyone involved”
Saturday we make the trip to Bastion Gardens the home of Prestatyn Town to take on Flint Mountain.
Our hosts also shared the point in their game at the weekend against Caersws as they scored a late equaliser through Owen Cassidy.
Last season Airbus came out winners on both occasions in the league. The match in March at the Essity Stadium was a tight affair as Airbus had to battle from a goal down to take the three points. Jordan Evans with a brilliant free kick to get us level and after entering the match with 70 minutes gone, Oli Lanceley made the instant impact from the bench as he put the WingMakers ahead with just over 15 minutes remaining.
The game at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium was more of a comfortable affair as Airbus finished 4-1 winners with goals from Kaiden Cooke, Tyler McManus, Kieran Evans and Sam Baker.
