
After securing a place in the next round of the JD Welsh cup, Airbus return to home turf on Friday as they welcome CPD Y Rhyl.
Rhyl were one of the promoted side hat gained a place in the JD Cymru North, they won the league by 10 points ahead of other promoted side Holyhead.
Both sides haven’t played each other since 2019, where Airbus come out 1-0 winners. This was the season of the Cymru Alliance where Airbus went on to when the league and take the title.
Rhyl opened there JD Cymru North season with a home game against another promoted side Brickfield Rangers which ended in a 0-0 draw. Our visitors started the league quite brightly with victories coming against Guilsfield, Caersws and Holyhead.
They have also seen themselves progress in the WBS League Cup and the JD Welsh Cup, but their league form has taking a little bit of a dip as they have lost 3 out of the last 5, but they also played out a credible 1-1 draw with Holywell Town.
James Davies is looking towards another Friday game under the lights, “It is another tough game Friday night but one we are excited for. Rhyl have started the season well and I am sure they will be pleased with their start to the season after last year’s promotion.
As a group we are well focused and quite clear on our objectives for this season, we are all working hard and determined to go on and win the league, we have set a good platform in the first third of the season to go on and do that. We now focus on Friday’s game and are aware of the need to win if we want to go on and win the league”
The WingMakers go into the game on Friday, Airbus are unbeaten in 20 JD Cymru North league games, which dates back to January and they will be looking to extend that on Friday evening.
