Festive trip away to Newtown awaits the WingMakers
After a month of no football in the league due to our last game being postponed due to weather, we make a festive trip to Newtown on Boxing day.
Nathan Williams is looking forward to Friday along with the rest of the squad, “After a couple of weeks break in the league on Boxing Day we travel to Newtown.
We’ve had a couple of good friendlies to keep us fit and sharp so we will be ready for the big test against Newtown.
It’s always a tough place to play away but the lads have been putting the work in recently to try and prepare us for the big game and hopefully take 3 points home”
Our previous fixture against Newtown, ended in the points be shared after a late equaliser from Stefan Jones on the 96th minute.
Airbus stared the fixture very brightly at The Hollingsworth Group Stadium where they took a 2-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes.
George Peers was at the double with his first goal coming from a shot from Jordan Evans which was initially saved by Dave Jones, but George Peers was there to smash the ball into the roof of the net.
Peers then converted a penalty that was awarded after Kaiden Cooke was brought down.
Newtown got back into the game shortly after the half time break as they pulled a goal back through Robert Evans.
